Attached is Pay Request #13 for the SE Project in the amount of $485,444.57. Also attached are the supporting documents to the pay request. H&W Contracting is requesting payment for work completed on the SE Infrastructure Project.  The work on this pay request is for the on going work on 4th Street, Washington Avenue  and the alley sewer restoration. DGR Engineering and Finance Officer Baartman have verified and reviewed the pay request.  

 

Recommend the Council approve Pay Request #13 in the amount of $485.444.57.  

 

PROJECT UPDATE  H&W has utilized the late season good weather to make progress towards substantial completion of the project.  The crews have finalized the installation of all utilities throughout the project. 99.5% of the concrete is installed as of the drafting of this memo with plans complete by the end of the week. Crews are expected to work throughout this week and next with backfilling of sidewalks and driveways, additional alley surface work, sign installation, etc... The seeding of the boulevards and yards will wait until spring. The contractor is planning to complete seeding as early as possible after the snow melts in the spring of 2021.  The contractor will do their best to tie up as many loose ends to finalize the project with the exception of the seeding.  It is anticipated that H&W will reach substantial completion of the project before the end of December. The Council will continue to have on going discussions about liquidated damages due to the over run of the contract.
